This policy explains what information MyScribe collects, why, and what choices you have. We keep data collection to what the service actually needs.
Information we collect
When you use the site. Our servers and hosting platform record standard technical information about each request, such as the IP address it came from, the browser or client (user agent), the page requested, and the time. We use this to operate the service, keep it secure, and understand overall usage.
Site analytics. We use Microsoft Application Insights to understand visits and page usage, measure loading times, and diagnose technical errors. It collects information such as pages visited, browser and device details, and cookie-based identifiers that help distinguish browsers and sessions. We use this information to improve the service, not for advertising.
The message you create. The details you enter in the form are sent to our AI provider to generate your message. MyScribe does not save your drafts or messages to a database or permanent message history. No account is required.
Service usage. We record counts of steps such as preview requests, checkout attempts, and delivery outcomes, together with the selected message type, language, and length. These usage events do not include your message text, names, email address, or payment identifiers.
When you buy a message. Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number; Stripe processes it. Stripe holds the payment record. We receive checkout information, including the payment status, amount, reference, and the email address used to deliver your message. Stripe may provide a receipt according to the checkout and receipt settings.
How we use your information

- Operate, secure, and improve the service, and prevent abuse
- Meet legal and accounting obligations
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers that process data on our behalf, each only to the extent needed to perform its function:
- Stripe for payment processing
- Twilio SendGrid for email delivery
- Microsoft Azure for hosting, usage analytics, and diagnostics (Application Insights)
- Azure AI Foundry to process the details you submit and generate your message
We may also disclose information if required by law. The AI service receives the details needed to write your message; SendGrid receives the finished message and your delivery email address. Avoid including information you would not want processed by these providers. Their own privacy and data-handling terms also apply.
Legal bases (EU/UK visitors)
Where the GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of a contract or steps you request before a purchase (previews, payment, and message delivery), our legitimate interests (operating and securing the service, understanding overall usage, and preventing abuse), and legal obligations (such as required financial records).
Data retention
Your draft and result are available within your writing session, which runs in server memory and expires after 30 minutes of inactivity or when the application restarts. This session data is not saved to a database or files. Copies delivered by email and records held by our payment, AI, email, and hosting providers are separate from your writing session. Provider records and technical logs follow the retention settings and terms of those services. We retain support correspondence as needed to resolve requests, and financial records for applicable accounting and legal obligations.

Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to certain processing. To make a request, email us at support@myscribe.net. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. Where applicable, you may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Cookies
MyScribe uses cookies for essential site functions and for analytics and diagnostics. We do not use advertising cookies. See our Cookie Policy for details.
International transfers
Our service is operated from the United States. If you access it from outside the United States, your information will be processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate.
Children
The service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date above shows when it last changed.
